Last week, I outlined what is needed to strengthen the political infrastructure and why the state party can not accomplish what is needed to reclaim political power without the support of other entities. It takes a collective effort! Recap below.

To move Indiana and all “rigged” states forward, we must prioritize one crucial aspect: maximizing voter turnout. The solution is clear: we need to run candidates in every district.

The current landscape demands bold action. We can't afford to leave any district uncontested, allowing opposing parties to claim victories by default. By running candidates in every district, we can:

➡️ Amplify the voices of underrepresented communities
➡️ Drive progress on key issues that matter most to Hoosiers
If We Want to Build Back Our Political Power ➡️ Increasing Voter Turnout Is Essential!
To rebuild our political power, we need to support state house races in all districts. Focusing solely on "winnable" races hasn't yielded the desired results. However, it's challenging for a small state party to support all candidates across the state. So, what's the solution? Supporting diverse organizations that fill in the gaps.
In 2022, Blue Ohio successfully crowdfunded financial support for underfunded candidates, backing 20 candidates and distributing nearly $80,000. In 2024, they supported 59 candidates and distributed over $385,000. These funds directly benefit candidates running for state house seats in the most "rigged" areas across the state. With this financial support, candidates can deliver the democratic message to voters and increase voter turnout.
The Blue Indiana Launch Fund is committed to making this financial support a reality across Indiana. With your backing, we can achieve our goal of maximizing voter turnout by supporting state-level candidates in some of the most challenging areas of the state.

TAKE ACTION: 5 Calls
Keep making those calls to your State and Federal Representative and Senator! Demand to be heard, and make sure they know that you're paying attention. Share how cutting public school funding will impact your family - tell them about the specific struggles you'll face, the opportunities your children will miss out on, and the long-term consequences for our state's future.
Share personal stories about how the cost of electricity is rising month over month, and how it's affecting your household budget. Explain how finding affordable housing is beyond challenging and almost impossible in many neighborhoods due to corporate landlords' price-gouging tactics.
Publicly request a town hall meeting with your Representative or Senator, and put it in writing! Share your request on social media, and tag them so they can't ignore you. If they respond to your request, share their response publicly and hold them accountable.
Keep the pressure on! Your voice matters, and your persistence will make a difference. Remember, every call, email, and social media post brings us closer to creating change in Indiana and our county. Don't let up - keep pushing for a better future for our state.
